Middle of Everywhere Podcast: Work Wherever You Want to Live

Middle of Everywhere is a new podcast from The Solo Project that explores the importance of place — and how, like never before, you can chose how you want to work where you want to live.

The Solo Project provides inspiration, ideas, tools and community for the country’s most ambitious Soloists. We’re a media and research company, launched by the people who helped create and lead the Fast Company and Inc. Magazine brands.

Our Job: to document the new world of work.

Throughout history, people have moved to where the work is — now work is moving to where people want to be.

In this series, we explore not just where everyone’s going, and why, but what they’re experiencing once they get there. There’s a lot to consider:

  • What happens to a sense of place and community when where you live becomes untethered from where you work?

  • What can cities, regions and countries do to attract Soloists and retain them, and which ones are doing a good job of it?

  • And how does our new mobility impact the way we see the world?

There is no middle of nowhere anymore. There is here — and everywhere else. Because now we’re all in the Middle of Everywhere.

Join us on this road trip — whether it’s across the street, across the country, or across the globe.

We’ll talk to the people — from civic leaders, sociologists, and futurists, to digital nomads, long-time freelancers, and new Soloists — who are mapping this new geography.

What does the new world of work look like? It looks like this.
